London is a world city and nowhere is this more evident than on the pavements lining our capital. The Cadogan Estate plans to add to the globalisation of our fair city by bringing a piece of Italy's Corso Como glamour to Kensington and Chelsea.
Centred around a piazza, the Cadogan Estate is planning a multi-million-pound project that will transform two post-war buildings in Sloan Street and Pavillion Road into 100,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space. A planning application has been lodged with the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and a ruling should be made in the next few months.
Even though work is not scheduled to start until 2013 businesses will have to think about moving and securing their vacant properties. Relocation options are going to be offered to some businesses, but the Cadogan Estate has already indicated that not everyone will be accomodated by the proposed regeneration.
